As part of Colonial Seed’s corporate mission to provide practical vegetative site solutions anchored in grasses, sedges, rushes, and legumes, it has established a comprehensive plug program to address the unique needs of Southern New England and its coastal plant communities by providing immediate access to locally sourced genetic material.Extracted from collections made available to us by NRCS (National Resources Conservation Service), together with a good supply of Pilgrim Coastal hair grass and small amounts of other species. These plugs provide ideal adaptation, attractiveness, and low maintenance, while being sensitive to wetland preservation, native plant utilization, erosion control, and agricultural preservation.

Because Pilgrim Plants & Seeds has extensive ties to many American seed producers and collectors, we are able to access lesser known species of specific interest to land holders, foundations, and public agencies. We welcome the challenge of species-sourcing.
